About Me

About Me

Having decided to leave practise following the birth of my son in 2009, I set up Westcott Wills from my home in the East End of London in order to continue to pursue a career I enjoy, but without the ties of a 9 to 5 office based job. It had also become apparent to me through discussions with other parents in the community that writing a will was something that people found problematic, but which they all agreed was imperative, not only with regard to appointing guardians for young children, but also for securing their inheritance.

I have an LLB in Law and German from the University of Wales, Swansea and I went on to complete my LPC at the College of Law, Guildford, graduating in 2000. I trained with Fladgate LLP from August 2000 to April 2003 when I qualified into the tax and private client department and worked there until November 2008. I am now practising in my home town of Bishop’s Stortford in Hertfordshire but still regularly travel into London.

Working in my own environment means that I am able to fit the work in around my children at times that are both convenient to me and to you. I can meet you either during the day, or during the evening in the comfort of your own home. I hope that in this way I offer a relaxed, friendly and affordable, but legally valid will writing service. Making a will can be a stressful experience, but I believe that I can make the process as straightforward and relaxed as possible!

Whilst will writing is currently unregulated, coming from a legal background I believe an element of regulation is vital, which is why I am a member of the Society of Will Writers and I follow their Code of Practice. I am also insured through the Society’s recommended insurers.
